The accession process of Croatia and Iceland make strides towards in the last days.
Iceland. The new cabinet have announced on Sunday intention to press national parliament to vote for applying to the EU. The Sigurdardottir’s cabinet would like to sent the membership application before July, but they still have to convince the Left Greens party to vote the accession.
A Gallup poll on last week said that 61.2% of Icelanders would agree that Iceland become a EU member.
Croatia. Finally Croatia and Slovenia have founded a solution for the bay of Piran. Croatia government accept the proposal from Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn’s to resolve a border dispute established by a five-member arbitration tribunal in line with international law. The Croatian prime minister Masic has explain very clearly which was the situation for his country. “This was a ‘take it or leave it’ proposal. And we chose to take it” he said.
